Brothers,
The conclave of ROCK was amazing! 180 brothers and visitors of Section 94 & 96 enjoyed a weekend filled with leadership development, fellowship events, and service projects. The Delta Sigma chapter at UCONN hosted a wonderful weekend complete with Rock Band and Tattoos! During the Section business meeting, delegates chose the Spring 2010 conclave hosts: University of New Hampshire. Make sure to mark your calendar for the next two conclaves, which will be hosted in Section 94: October 23-25, 2009 at UMaine Farmington and March 26-28, 2010 at UNH. I was re-elected section chair and Bobby Femino was re-elected as the Section 94 Chair. We are both looking forward to serving the sections for another year.
Over the next two months, be sure that you are preparing for the summer break and leaving your chapter in good condition for the fall. Hold a CAPS (new version of CPPC) goal making session, complete all paperwork with the Naitonal office (officer forms, graduating seniors, pledge and new member forms), and begin to give younger members opportunities to build leadership. Have graduating seniors give their advice and knowledge before they leave for the real world! Make sure that you have strong advisors in place and ask some new staff members or community leaders to join your team. Remember, recruitment happens all year round- advertise your service events and make a name for your chapter on campus.
Be sure to provide updated info for your section of our website. Each chapter should have a web correspondent to relay information to webmaster _at_ apo96.org. Add your pictures, events, and requests for help!
In Leadership, Friendship, and Service,
Katie McCollom
Section Chair
