Dear Fellow Brothers,
Enclosed is information regarding the Section 94/96 Conference this fall semester: Conclave of Peace, Love, and Service from October 23rd-25th 2009. The registration fee is $35.00 per brother. Please make checks payable to Alpha Phi Omega. The fee covers both registration fee as well as the cost of the banquet, t-shirts, glassware and supplies. The early bird registration deadline is October 9th, 2009; after October 9th, the fee escalates to $40.00 per brother. Payments may be mailed separately from registration forms, and if the payments are not mailed by October 9th, please bring them directly to the registration table at check in. However, please be sure to register all brothers and pledges who wish to attend regardless of whether or not they are paying before the early deadline (so we have a proper estimate for banquet).
Conclave of Peace, Love, and Service will be held at the University of Maine at Farmington, 111 South Street in Farmington, ME. Friday night activities and registration will be held at the Comfort Inn, located at 1026 US Route 2 East Wilton, ME. The costs of the rooms are $89.00 for the night for 4 people, $22.25 per person. To book the amount of hotel rooms you will need for your chapter, please call the hotel directly at (207) 645-5155 and indicate that you are attending the Alpha Phi Omega event. The deadline for booking the hotel rooms is Wednesday September 23, 2009. After September 23rd, you can book rooms at the regular rate, but the price of the rooms per night rises to at least $99.95 per night.
On Friday night, upon your arrival to the hotel, you will need to check in with the hotel and with our chapter. You will receive a packet containing a schedule and other significant information for the weekend. There is a chapter competition of which the chapter who brings the most non-perishable items for the local food shelf receives a prize. This is one of our ways of helping out locally. We will be holding a movie night showcasing green-themed movies as well as games.
On Saturday, you will arrive at the University of Maine at Farmington campus. Service projects and workshops will be ongoing all day on and around campus. Brothers are on their own for lunch, so please remember to bring extra money. A list of local eats will be included. The banquet will be held in North Dining Hall on the campus in the evening. Attire is semi formal or dress to theme.
If for some reason the Comfort Inn doesn't work out for you, alternate housing includes Colonial Valley Motel (207) 778-3391 and Farmington Motel (207) 778-4680.
